Experience
I've spent years teaching elementary, middle, high school, and college students subjects including biology, psychology, critical reading, analytical writing, and standardized test preparation (SAT, GRE, Advanced Placement). I first started tutoring my peers in the beginners' biology lecture at Cornell University after receiving top marks in that class. My experience with students stretches to life outside of school, where I volunteered for the environmental education organization Roots and Shoots as a workshop leader for young children and as a peer counselor. This combination of educational and community enthusiasm drives my motivation to shepherd the next generation into becoming passionate scholars and engaged citizens. As an honors biology graduate from Cornell University, I began improving my writing through several intensive classes and through preparing my honors thesis. That improvement continued as I developed my master's thesis for publication. I graduated with my master's degree in Psychology from the University of Chicago. As a result, one of my strengths as a tutor is communicating complex ideas, and I look forward to teaching this vital skill to my students. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, playing lacrosse, visiting museums, cooking, baking, and playing with my dog.
