Experience
My love for education encompasses not only my B.A. in Literature, but also a teaching certificate and soon, a master's in Educational Leadership. I teach many different subjects, including Literature, Public Speaking, SAT preparation, Journalism, and of course, writing. I try to include a number of different elements to tutoring and teaching, including pop culture subjects like Lord of the Rings, video games, pop musicians, and musicals, to help students understand language and writing. Although my teaching focus has been high school students, my tutoring experience extends to younger students as well. I also understand the importance of language, speaking, reading comprehension, and creative writing as skills that apply to many areas of life, from resume writing and job interviews to personal interactions. I have great expectations for all students, whether they are studying for standardized tests, or need help with a writing assignment. I design tutoring curricula rather than just teaching from a book. Personal connection with each student is very important to me, because it helps my tutoring students rise to any challenge if someone believes in them.
