I have 8 years of experience teaching levels 1 through AP French in public schools in New Jersey. I have also spent 4 years teaching French as a private tutor, and was given a Fulbright in 2011 through the teacher exchange program. I earned my bachelor's degree in French at Rider University. While there, I was given the Foreign Language Study Award, as well as a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in French. I worked as a teacher's assistant for a year while I lived in France, and enjoyed playing tennis, participating in the gospel choir, and having a show on the radio. As a tutor, I hope to encourage and support my students by providing them with individualized lessons, geared to their interests and goals. I strive to provide an environment that encourages students to feel free to share and participate. I want to help my students to be excited about learning and to be comfortable speaking French all the time. Aside from teaching French, I am also available to tutor ESL/ELL, English, Psychology, Social Sciences, AP French Language and Culture, as well as SAT Test Prep. My interests include playing jazz music, cooking, and playing tennis.
